My Winter Favorites

My Winter Favorites by katelynn-taylor featuring a black cardigan

Let's give a warm welcome to November. One of my favorite months of the year, simply because it truly starts getting cold in the south. September and October are just teases towards the cool winter air, but November the temperature drops and I love it unlike most southerners.
Today I want to share with you all my Winter Style File, basically my daily winter attire. Yes I know it is not our average parka jacket and snow boots, but us southerners rarely need those items during the winter months.

1⎪ This season I have been a huge advocate toward Poncho Styled Cardigans, I love the cozy and slouchy look they bring and the variety of patterns they come in.
2⎪ You can never go wrong with a chunky oversized sweater. This is truly my Go To outfit. Pop on a sweater, leggings, scarf, boots and I am out the door like that. I think it is quite sad how many sweaters I own, its an addiction that I just can't break.
3⎪ Panama Hats have been taking over this Fall and Winter season. I absolutely love these hats on days when my hair is not loving me. Especially since I have been going natural, these days are quite often. I can easily throw my Panama Hat on and hide my horrendous hair and plus they are so chic.
4⎪ A Basic Tee is everything to me. During the fall and winter basic tees, sweaters, cardigans, you name it, I love it. Basic tops can work with everything, you can dress them up or dress them down. They are also great with layering when the weather gets very cold.
5⎪ Oh how I love Booties. Confession; these are my addiction this season. I cannot get enough, there are so many booties out there that are just perfect. Booties are another trend that are taking over. Like I mentioned before, booties can be styled with anything and everything.
6⎪ Distressed Denim is always a number one in my closet no matter what season it is. There is something about a slightly distressed denim that just works and I love it.
7⎪ Of course, I could not forget to mention Riding Boots. I recently purchased the Sam Edelman Penny Boot and needless to say I am obsessed. They give the perfect rustic and tailored look that I am going for and they are so comfortable.
8⎪ Whenever fall and winter come around, I tend to switch my bags to black. Not sure why, but I have always done it. Everyone always says you need a little black dress, but in my opinion you also always need a little black bag. I enjoy black bags because they always look a bit dressier in some occasions.
9⎪ Last but not least, long necklaces, one of my favorite ways to finish off an outfit is with necklaces. Sometimes I can only wear earrings for a short period of time so instead I result to necklaces of any kind. This necklace I featured is from my favorite store at the moment Irene Story, I have been loving their jewelry to no end, check them out!
